WaveFX create 3D visuals for CCC cycleway improvements
Cambridge
Council wants to make it safer to cycle along routes and encourage people to
commute to work, college and school by bike. It’s planning to create wider and
safer cycleways, which could be segregated from other traffic as well as
introducing a new type of bus stop to the city for the first time.
To help visualise these plans WaveFX a Cambridge based
video and animation company was commissioned to produce a series of
photorealistic images for print, web and roadshows.
Chris
Trill lead animator at WaveFX said “The process involves capturing a series of HD photographs of the road
and then using a combination of 3DS max and Photoshop software we create and
blend the new image to include people, shadows and reflections. This project
involved static images but it’s the same process to animate the whole road and
create a stunning explorative flythrough”
Grant Weller, Project Manager of the Cycling
Infrastructure Team commented “I’ve used
WaveFX on two occasions now to create visualisations for a number of our
cycleway schemes in Cambridge and the whole process has been faultless. The
work produced has been created within the given timeframes and the day to day
liaison with Chris has been great which has meant the images have been perfect
for our consultation documents. I would thoroughly recommend these guys to
anyone.”
